Composite Sketch of 3 Men Wanted for Impersonating Police Officers

GYPSUM, CO – The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) is looking for any information pertaining to three men impersonating police officers that conducted a traffic stop on the night of August 12, 2008 on Highway 6 near Costco.
The three suspects were wearing dark colored clothing and appeared official. Each suspect was driving a dark colored passenger car equipped with red and blue lights in the area of the windshield.
The ECSO will continue to investigate this incident. The ECSO warns driver’s that if a vehicle attempts to pull you over and is not clearly marked police cruiser or your gut is telling you that something is not quite right slow down (to indicate you are not trying to get away, in case it is a real police officer), signal your intent to pull over -- but only do so when you can find a well-lit, public place with other people around, such as a shopping mall parking lot. Drivers equipped with a cell phone can also call 911; the police dispatcher can let you know if it is a real officer and if it is not will send help to your location.
